The SEDC team has has successfully written an LSTA Grant for the amount of $8,965. These funds will be used to purchase 25 HP Chromebooks to be used by the 3rd-5th grade rural students in their school libraries. With the assistance of the school media specialist and SEDC staff, students will use the “Big6 Skills” to learn correct research skills and gather information. The district reading specialist and classroom teacher will teach the writing skills necessary to compile the content created by students in Google Docs. They then will be shown how to publish the book using Google Docs to our Regional Overdrive eBook Library to share with others. Schools that will be part of this program in the first year are listed below.
