Superintendent David Styler, Millard School District

David Styler has been serving as superintendent for nine years in the Millard County School District. Much of his efforts as superintendent have been to elevate the teaching profession as he has implemented teaching incentives to attract and retain the finest teachers to Millard County. He has diligently worked to boost pay for new teachers. He implemented late career salary steps, 30-year appreciation awards, and a retirement stipend to show appreciation for the work of retiring educators. He has worked to extend paid professional development time. The Millard School District was awarded an extensive grant being promoted at the Consortium of School Networking from VMWARE to enhance technology services for students and teachers. Now, students and teachers in this very rural county have technology solutions that allow for learning anytime and anywhere. Styler is the past president of the Utah School Superintendents Association
