EDUC 5600- Introduction to Education for the Gifted and Talented.

SEDC will be cooperating with Washington County School District to begin a Gifted and Talented Endorsement cohort for K-12 teachers in Utah’s rural schools. We are ready to start registration for the First Summer 2019 Gifted and Talented Endorsement Class.

Another Gifted and Talented class: EDUC 5635 – Methods & Materials in Gifted Education will be offered in June 2019 as well, but a separate registration announcement will be made for that class.

This is the first course in a new cohort.  So if you have ever considered earning the Gifted and Talented Endorsement, the time is now.

This class will be held on Monday through Friday starting June 3 through June 7, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm each day.

IVC and Acano will be used to offer this class.

Register with SEDC for EDUC 5635 here

Please share the above link with others to register. NOTE: This will only register you with SEDC. You will also need to complete UVU registration for college credit.

Please view and share this flyer with anyone else who may be interested as well.

Cost:

SEDC: There is a charge of $210.00 per endorsement class taken through SEDC (if you are planning on your District/Charter to pay for this charge, please contact them and receive approval prior to registering).

Utah Valley University: UVU charges $15.00 per credit for class credit. This is a three credit class. So tuition will be $45.00 (there is a one time admission fee of $35.00 if you have never taken a class from UVU).

Please see the below information to register at UVU for credit .  We are encouraging teachers to complete the admission, registration, and payment of fees processes prior to the beginning of class.

If you plan on taking this course and receiving the Utah Gifted and Talented Education Endorsement, you must receive college credit, you must register through UVU for the class by carefully following the attached instructions.  If you have previously completed the admission process, then all you need to do is go online, follow the registration instructions on page 2, and then pay the course registration fee.  If this is the first UVU endorsement class that you have taken, then you will need to first complete the admission instructions and then register for the class.  Register prior to the class beginning!
