Elementary Science – NEW Endorsement!

SEDC is excited to partner with SUU to offer the Elementary Science Endorsement.  The Elementary Science Endorsement verifies that the teacher understands scientific ways of thinking and working, conceptual content knowledge, and can support students’ science learning in authentic and experiential ways in the K-6 classroom.  Teachers with the Elementary Science Endorsement can also take 3 additional courses and receive the Elementary STEM endorsement.

The Elementary Science Endorsement requires competency in the following six areas:
  • Nature of Science and Engineering
  • Systems in Science
  • Matter and Energy in Science
  • Cause & Effect in Science
  • Stability and Change in Science

SEDC plans to offer each of the six required courses throughout the coming years in a hybrid option that will combine both in-person and online learning.  There will be some required in-person learning in Cedar City for each of the courses
